“I set my goals high, I have big ideas but I am always in a hurry. I prefer staying out of the spotlight, almost retreating from the society and its rules. I am rational in my decisions and always think things through. My thoughts are not stuck in the past, rather I am thinking into the future. I am legitimate and I have nothing to hide, however, I keep people at an arms distance. I am discreet in communication- you can trust me with your secrets. I am highly optimistic, well, overly optimistic and I like things to be perfect. I am anti-social, and I find it a bit of trouble to connect with people. I am good with facts and figures, and I face no issues when it comes to trusting people.”
Confused?
So I came across this term graphology last week which basically is an analysis of the handwriting to infer the character of a person. Hence, my curiosity led me to analyse my personality and the analysis is what you read in the paragraph above. If you wish to analyse your handwriting in detail, read this book, or if you have a tight schedule, follow this article to get a high level analysis. Isn’t this amazing?
"People think handwriting analysis is like voodoo or tea leaves; it's not. It's body movement from your brain. It's very logical."
I have been following the game of chess for almost 2 years now and my favourite Indian chess player is Vidit Gujrathi, India #2 and World #22. Let's be realistic and say that the chances of he winning against Magnus Carlsen, five times world champion, in a world championship match, with all the pressure, is quite less. But still, I always watch their match. Why?
Why would I want to watch a match where I know my favourite player would probably lose?
It's not because I want to watch them lose, but because I hope, someday, the tables will turn and Vidit will pull of a surprise win even though I am not much optimistic about it. The difference is majorly about how you see the odds. If the odds are against, but there's still a chance - it's hope. When one starts a new venture, the numbers are not with them, but they hope, they hope that in the longer run they’ll be profitable. That's the thing about hope. You can survive without optimism, but not without hope. Hope makes you work harder, takes you on the path of innovation to get an outcome. If you’re optimistic that you’ll succeed, you’ll have less motivation to find an innovative way to do so. If you’re pretty sure your chances of succeeding are bad, but you hope to succeed anyway, you’ll keep your eyes open for opportunities that you might not notice otherwise.
But ofcourse hope can make you complacent, It feels good to hope that things will be done, and this maybe enough for some to slack off.
See you on next Saturday, until then have a great weekend :)
Cheers!
